Момчил Методиев
Проф. Момчил Методиев, дн, е ръководител на департамент „История“ в Нов български университет и главен редактор на сп. „Християнство и култура“. Изследователските му интереси са свързани с историята на комунизма в България с фокус върху Държавна сигурност и историята на Българската православна църква. Автор е на книгите Нюйоркски митрополит Андрей. Биография, спомени, дневници (Рива, 2016 г.), Държавна сигурност - предимство по наследство. Професионални биографии на водещи офицери (2016, в съавторство с Мария Дерменджиева), Между вярата и компромиса. Българската православна църква и комунистическата държава, 1944–1989 (2010) и Машина за легитимност. Ролята на Държавна сигурност в комунистическата държава (2008). Изследовател към Института за изследване на близкото минало и академичен консултант към организацията „Софийска платформа“. Работил е по съставителството на няколко документални сборника, издадени от Комисията по досиетата, както и по Проекта за история на Студената война на Института „Удроу Уилсън” във Вашингтон, САЩ.
Prof. Momchil Metodiev, Dr. habil. is Head of the History Department in New Bulgarian University and Editor in Chief of the Christianity and Culture magazine. His research interests are related with the history of the communist regime in Bulgaria, with a particular focus on the communist State Security, Bulgarian Orthodox church and interdenominational dialogue in that period. He is author of the monographs Metropolitan Andrey of New York. Biography, Memoirs, Diaries (Sofia, Riva, 2017); State Security – Advantage by inheritance. Professional Biographies of the Senior Officers. (2016, with Maria Dermendjieva), Between Faith and Compromise. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Communist State, 1944-1989 (2010) and Legitimacy Machine: The Place of the State Security within the Communist State (2008). He is also Research Fellow in the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past in Sofia and Academic advisor to the Sofia Platform organization. He took part in the compilation of several documentary collections published by the Bulgarian Dossier Commission. He also worked in several Bulgarian and international projects researching the communist past including the Cold War Research Project in the Woodrow Wilson Institute in Washington, DC
